On a more serious note, I don't see photographers asking for money to buy lenses so they can show their "fans" more photos, or illustrators asking for money for a new tablet or anything.
Begging for money is just low...
I know I will be blocked for stating my opinion, like I always do because nobody has the guts to handle the truth.

But you should do something to work for money not charity for yourself, money should be given for a real charity for cancer, not lingerie.

Start your own paid webpage a la suicide girls or something like that, or reconsider your line of work if it's not paying your bills.

I'm sorry but there's way to many "hot/cute/sexy" girls asking for free money on the internet, so my advice to all is, get a high paying job or get married (with a rich guy), then raise money for a charity and help others not yourself.

Says who?
Is there some unwritten rule that obligates the funding of research exclusively and the freedom to pick and choose how one spends their money is suspended?

"Funding of research"?
Yes it is (a writen rule). But you have a twisted idea of what that means.

Nobody prohibits you from begging money on the street, but it's still just people not wanting to work.

So shame that art won't pay for the artist's expences on art itself again. I kinda agree with the donation pool but you should know that it won't cover for all the things you listed (lingerie, accessories, etc.). Still there's nothing to lose in giving it a try.

By the sound of things, what we really need, perhaps, is something like a Kickstarter page for models, right? Would something like that make sense for you, Miss Laurelle? I suppose I'm guilty of flinging the fad solution around, but it would be a novel idea. I don't know of many other models that may have attempted something similar.

It's a site for people looking for crowd-sourced funding for projects; usually with some kind of exclusive incentive for people who fund early or generously, I think? I'm in the UK, and it really hasn't hit here yet, but my impression is that it's set up a little like an old TV telethon (if you know what that is)-- with a target and a time frame for meeting the published goal.

I had initially heard about it because of a couple of iOS games being funded this way, but there have been all sorts of other things on there, from comics to short films, etc. There's a bit of a primer here: [link]

Again, I'm not sure it makes sense for your particular situation, but it came to mind during my read of the discussion.

Yeah, there are a lot of prizes that are given away for donations.
I don't know if mine would be of interest to that many :/

I know it's been done before, but what about personal replies via YouTube or some other video sharing site, based on the amount of donation. Or, *ahem*, singing requests. :P
But seriously, anything that may get you to a wider audience would help, perhaps?
